A film by Just Jaeckin. Stars: Sylvia Kristel, Alain Cuny and Marika Green. Emmanuelle is a beautiful young model and lives in Bangkok together with her husband Jean, who’s several years older. She likes him because he’s taught her much, and he likes her because she’s learning so well – and wants to often. Both are very tolerant in matters of extramarital affairs, so he doesn’t mind the young Marie-Ange coming over every so often, although she obviously wants more than talk from his wife. But Emmanuelle is more fascinated by the older Bee, and joins her on a trip into the jungle. The film was originally denied permits to film in Thailand, in part due to its sexual content. The filmmakers only managed to do so by presenting an earlier, family-oriented version of the script they had no intention of shooting, and later pretending that they were merely shooting a documentary film of the local sites. Star Sylvia Kristel was apparently fairly unhappy that she was not approached regarding the English-language dub of the film, as she herself spoke fluent English and felt she was capable of doing the job herself. Ended its run at the Paris Triomphe cinema, on the Champs-Elysées, on February 6th 1985, which had been shown here since its June 1974 release. First and original ‘Emmanuelle’ movie of the official ‘Emmanuelle’ series. The character Marie-Ange masturbates in front of a shocked Emmanuelle while watching a large photo of Paul Newman in a magazine.
