HAYWIRE (2011)

A film by steven soterbergh.
Cast: Gina Carano, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender.
This dynamic action-thriller directed by Steven Soderbergh boasts a talented cast that includes Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas, Michael Angarano; and introduces MMA superstar Gina Carano as Mallory Kane, in a demanding lead role that has her performing her own high-adrenaline stunts. Haywire is a fast and spare thriller, with cleanly staged set pieces that immerse you in the action. Freelance covert operative Mallory Kane is hired out by her handler to various global entities to perform jobs which governments can’t authorize and heads of state would rather not know about. Nothing new there it has been done before but let’s continue on After a mission to rescue a hostage in Barcelona, Mallory is quickly dispatched on another mission to Dublin. Gee why I am not surprise. saw that one comming by her ex boyfriend of course. When the operation goes Haywire and Mallory finds she has been double crossed, she needs to use all of her skills, tricks and abilities to escape an international manhunt, make it back to the United States, protect her family, and exact revenge on those that have betrayed her. It a nice fast paced action thriller very well done it has been done before but it is very enjoyable. The fight scene looks real enough and well done. beside so many young males respond positively to superwomen as heroines so it works well. Soderbergh is a master craftsman whose work moves almost eagerly between genres. Carano can hold her own, and like Woody Allen, Soderbergh is one of those directors who can get just about anybody he wants to act in his movies. Enjoy.
