A film by Hossein Amini

Cast: Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen, Oscar Isaac

It is 1962 A couple Chester MacFarland (Viggo Mortensen) and his wife Colette (Kristen Dunst) tour Greece and visit the Acropolis of Athens. They meet a tour guide who scams tourist  named Rydal (Oscar Isaac) a young greek-American.The MacFarlands invite Rydal to dinner, and Rydal, is quiet taken by Collette. The couple retires to their hotel but as Rydal goes home he noticed a bracelet on the back seat of the taxi. So he goes back to the hotel where he sees Chester and presses him to help him with an unconscious body. Rydal helps, but eventually gets caught up in emerging  events. He also becomes infatuated with Colette and runs the risk of provoking Chester’s crossness.

I do not want to reveal too much but here it is in the story you do not know much about the couple even when you go into it in depth you still don’t and that is the way I like it . Here is a couple who visit Athens Greece and you think they normal people who bumps into a tour guide well not exactly it is the tour guide who keeps starring at Chester so his wife go see the tour guide and ask him a bunch a question turn to be an american who leaves in Greece and decided to get into tourism industries as a tour guide but not an ordinary tour guide he scams tourist and does well. He becomes interested in Colette he gets more drawn to her as the story continues. When he comes back to the hotel to give back the bracelet that Colette bought at the flea market. But that’s when his troubles begins when he sees Chester dragging a body and trying to open the door he sees Rydal in the hall way and ask for his help. from there on nothing good comes of it. They get deeper and deeper into trouble and the fact that Rydal is beginning to fall for Colette it does not help their situation.

The Cinematography is excellent in this one and Hossein Amini who is a writer adapted the novel by Patricia Highsmith into the screenplay and it is his first time directing let me tell you so far so good. The actors delivered great performances . It is a love triangle story type thriller and well done at that. Have fun with this one.
