A film by Glenn Ficarra, John Requa
Cast: Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Rodrigo Santor
Nicky Spurgeon ( Will Smith ) , a Zen of the con man game who is slick as they come. Okay he is the best and has a team behind him. You see they work in group. Then comes in the mark Jess ( Margot Robbie ), a stunning woman who is looking for an easy score. She stick like glue to him and he teaches her the con game well the basics. The action takes us to New Orleans They put Jess to the test and she goes in action mode stealing purses, wallets watches, etc…Nick is the head of the business yes it is a business, they don’t do one con that is going to bring them a great deal of money and retire, no that is how you get caught they stick to the little stuff. Nick has a group of pickpocket on the pay role. Like I said it is a business. You see in this business you can’t get you emotion get the better of you. Saks fly between Nick and Jess but they go there separate ways.
Cool film about con artist that works well here but a little too slick, and predictable. But still good. The second half of the film focuses one characters development more than it focuses the con. Adrian Martinez steal the show here as Farhad, the team’s sex-obsessed oddball. The chemistry is flying off the chart with Margot and Will that is probely why this film is so likable. The cinematography is unbelievable and beautiful. The thing is the second half was fine but the con was okay the writers should come up with a better con. But the film is still fine I think they wanted the audience to focus on the relationship of Nick and jess developing. If you want a great ride in film that I will suggest this one.
