The film has been selection official at Cannes film festival. It will be shown at 7:00 PM tonight but at the UGC movie theater I saw it at Noon. Shane Black who is a screenwriter and a director those days has pull this colorful 70’s film well enough to draw audiences. The Nice guys a tough buddies private detective story that is burlesque wit a zest parody borderline slapstick comedy. The atmosphere of Los Angeles post-Nixon is a marvel: sets, costumes and disco-funk soundtrack is right on the money with some colorful characters that comes into play. Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe are perfect for each other as well on top of their games. It is a trip that is spayed with scotch and saturated with marijuana. do not except a structure script put so well together but it keeps the best for last and mislead the viewers. You have to focus on each scenes here to understand the density of writing here. Also Black has done an outstanding job on the decor the details are astonishing and dead on the money. Yes there are fight scenes, car stunts and plenty of scotch to around plus gun play as well. The sound track especially at the beginning I heard it before in the 70’s movies nothing wrong with that one it works here as well. Here Shane Black did not make  a masterpiece, but he shows in any event an incredible talent for architecting its sequences, and portray a beautiful atmosphere.
