Neon demon

A film by Nicolas Winding Refn

Cast: Elle Fanning, Christina Hendricks, Keanu Reeves

all those countless chic and shock scenes with the key to some of the most beautiful shots of the career of Nicolas Winding Refn, have something in vain. You have the feeling of seen one of the most incredible satires of fashion and advertising, the Neon Demon is a thriller giallo trend in the structure of a snake getting its pray. The film is a little bit awkward you can tell that Refn was influence by Davis Linch and Gallio by Dario Argento. The film is a buffet of sexualized horror with a bunch of plastic girls that jealousy will consume them to the point there are going to explode. This is a film obsessed with surfaces: the texture of hair, body paint, glitter, latex and not with nudity. The Neon Demon will hit you in the face with a fluorescent pink, golden glitter-filled gauntlet. The film also has a feel of high priestess of dark female sexuality with tension building up to the point of climax but it is going to take a little time. To some she is the perfect human being and everybody wants what she has her beauty. People those days are obsessed with it especially in L.A. Jealousy is a bitch and can consume a lot of girls to the point there are going to do something drastic. But if every body will think with their brain a little, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Here is a horror film that has been stylized a la Dario Argento. I will leave you with this one. “You know what my mother used to call me? Dangerous.”
