English title : The Raven.
A vicious series of poison-pen letters spreads rumours, suspicion and fear among the inhabitants of a small French town. Of course they turn on each other. One secrets will unveil . An original story at his best. I do not want to reveal too much just in case you din’t see the movie. Some habitants in a small town in France receive a letter reveling their secrets. Nothing like that has never happen. As they trying to find out who sent the letters the turn on each other. This film was release during the war and it was a gutsy move from Clouzot. it starts a little slows and picks up very quickly. The cinematography is superb. The screenplay is based on a true story which took place in Tulle (Corrèze, France) in the 1920s. A master piece of a film.
