A film by Rian Johnson
Cast: Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill
Rey (Daisy Ridley) tries to find luke Skywalker (Mark Hamil) to find out what is going on with her inside of her and to embark on this adventure with the gang that unlocks mysteries of the Force and secrets of the past.
Finally it has arrived and I was going to do a review yesterday but something came up. Here are character-packed extravaganza that picks up at the end of “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” and guides the series into unfamiliar territory with a few surprises. And yes fans you are going to love it. Don’t worry the mythology follows what George Lucas has built.
The first part of stars wars deals with Lea and the resistance trying to destroy a main ship and running away from the Empire. The other part is Rey trying to convince the self-exiled Jedi master Luke Skywalker , to overcome his grief at failing a group of young Jedi trainees and rejoin the Resistance. And yes in the mix there is Darth Vader-obsessed apprentice Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). Yes there are the usual suspects but I am going to be vague even not say much after that.
The story telling goes where it is supposed to go even end it where it is suppose to go which is to be followed by the 9th one. The special effects are out standing and even beautiful at times. The surprises make sense and you will see why when you see the film. It is down perfect this film and let’s hope they can do the same for the next one. The thing is the unexpected death of Carrie Fisher, thank god they gave her more screen time on that one. R.I.P Carrie Fisher. Yes it has humour in it and I expected that but the ending of the film I knew it was the only way to go. Until next time.
A film by Kathryn Bigelow
Cast: John Boyega, Anthony Mackie, Algee Smith
The New film from Kathryn Bigelow The Algiers Motel incident, written by John Hersey well he wrote the book. It took place in Detroit while the riots of July 1967 was going on , where blocks of the city were on fire. It was like a war zone some will even say. I remember some people telling me what was going on over there when I first came to the US in 1977. Those people was watching on TV they used to leave in the suburb of Detroit. I even work there at a gas station on Michigan Avenue at night in the 90’s and the city now is deteriorating where people abandoned their homes to leave elsewhere.
The film explain what went on back in 1967 and focuses on a group of young kids at the Algiers Motel who was partying and having a good time. A bunch of kids who are black with a couple of white girls. Outside there were racial tension and the looters plus the fire and the destruction of property. When all hell breaks loose all that because a kid did something stupid that the Detroit police and the military gets over there and things are going to escalate. However the racial tension are rising and the police are getting up their necks trying to find evidence of a gun being shot. The police are trying to get them to confess but it is not working so they used other tactics. I think here Bigelow toward the end with the trial that went on did it a little to fast with not too much details. The trial should be been brought to life. The racial tension unfortunately is still present in the US. I still like the film not to worry but like I said it looses it focus and some of you are not going to like that. However there where scenes that were a little uncomfortable to watch. Here is a director who is not afraid to hit you over the head with it or to shock you. I can’t wait until the next one.
A film by J.J. Abrams

Poe escape with the help of a soldier who does not want to do nothing with the dark side anymore. In the mean time the droid find its way in the hands of Rey (Daisy Ridley). Somehow this chain of events start an other and old acquaintance surfaces. Why the New Order wants the new droid at any cost. will Poe and the droid get to the resistance in time? May the force be with you.
J.J Abrams has done an outstanding job here, the cinematography is breathtaking at times. The story hold out it is a bit predictable but there is a few surprises along the way. There are quiet a few new characters and the old one are back. When Harrison Ford came on screen there were a round of applause big time, but anyway the film is action pack the actors has done a great job here. There is one thing that you are not going to like but that is the way it is I kind of knew that was going to happen. Well the CGI, I am going to tell you like this it is a George Lucas production and the man demand the best. Daisy Ridley is an unknown here and it is a risk to put an unknown in this genre of film she is the lead here. She deserved every bit of what they paid her and then some. The gamble has paid off to be a great addition to the franchise. It is up there with the first 3. Well that is my opinion any way. I can’t wait until the next one.
