A film by George Clooney

Cast: Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, Oscar Isaac

Welcome to Suburbicon, it is 1950 and everybody is happy, well until the black family moves in. Racism in America in the 50’s no you have got to be killing me. Next door well some kind of home invasion is occurring. Too much excitement for me I am packing to go to Paris France.

First Clooney here sent home his screenwriter the one he usually works with because  he did like the script so he went with the Coen brothers and wrote this, and when you see the film it is going to feel like a Coen bother’s film except it is directed by Clooney. I will say this the film start out good until the insurance man played by Oscar Isaac comes in and here is the third story but later it falls into the water. Why? Ok it is funny at times but if you put Issac in it and it does this wonderful acting and then poof. I think here the Coen pulled off Fargo and Burn after reading were it was well done to the fact they know how to film a movie with this kind of theme and never let it go until the end. Here Clooney tries the same thing but does not pull off. He knows very well how to frame his shot but not telling the story . After all the experience he has and all the film he has acted in he should have learn something right? Not an easy thing to pull off a crime story with humour noir. Until next time.

A film by J.J. Abrams

Cast: Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac,Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill

A droid and his master are on a planet where a meeting takes places but soon is disturb by an Army of the New order. Poe Dameron (Oscar Issac) a great fighter pilot has something that the dark side wants. He gets captured but the droid runs off . Poe escape with the help of a soldier who does not want to do nothing with the dark side anymore. In the mean time the droid find its way in the hands of Rey (Daisy Ridley). Somehow this chain of events start an other and old acquaintance surfaces. Why the New Order wants the new droid at any cost. will Poe and the droid get to the resistance in time? May the force be with you.

J.J Abrams has done an outstanding job here, the cinematography is breathtaking at times. The story hold out it is a bit predictable but there is a few surprises along the way. There are quiet a few new characters and the old one are back. When Harrison Ford came on screen there were a round of applause big time, but anyway the film is action pack the actors has done a great job here. There is one thing that you are not going to like but that is the way it is I kind of knew that was going to happen. Well the CGI, I am going to tell you like this it is a George Lucas production and the man demand the best. Daisy Ridley is an unknown here and it is a risk to put an unknown in this genre of film she is the lead here. She deserved every bit of what they paid her and then some. The gamble has paid off to be a great addition to the franchise. It is up there with the first 3. Well that is my opinion any way. I can’t wait until the next one.

A film by Alex Garland

Cast: Alicia Vikander, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac

Caleb, 26, a programmer is one of the largest computer company in the world. When he wins a contest to spend a week in a house in the mountain owned by Nathan the solitaire CEO , he discovers that he will actually have to participate in a strange and fascinating experiment in which it will interact with first artificial intelligence in the world that takes the form of a beautiful female robot.

There is an intelligent film that will make you think. This is the directorial debut of Alex Garland, a man who has written the likes of “28 Days. Alex Garland has done an amazing job, it’s beautifully shot, fantastic visual, intelligently written, brilliantly cast. the edit is sensational, it is perfect in many ways. It has a few twist and turns that you will not expect. The film will raise so many questions. Could be possible to have a Robot think like a human and that could be dangerous to me anyway. I think we want them to think better than humans. Is it possible? and will they make the same mistake that we did. Could they be better ingenieur than us. Could they d-save the planet that us human are destroying. The other thing is some countries are going to use robot to take a country they will be better soldiers and that could be a scary thing. It is a thing that most of us don’t think about. I think it is possible but the robot would have no feelings. How would they program that. Only a human can feel. A robot would be emotionless. I know a friend of mine back in the 80’s has work for GM to develop artificial intelligence in cars they were thinking it already years ago. To have a car think for itself they are already doing that a car that drives herself, they are close to it. I think it will take years to perfection it. It could back fire on us. Anyway there is a ton of questions here. Alicia Vikander has got it just right how to play this character what a beautiful and great Swedish actress, she nailed it. Of course Issac who has this great career ahead of him seems to be choosing the perfect film every time. The cinematography is gorgeous here especially outside. The music fits perfectly into the film here it is nothing like you heard before. A must see do not miss it.

A film by J.C. Chandor

Cast: Oscar Isaac, Jessica Chastain, David Oyelowo

This is the big day for Abel Morales ( Oscar Issac), owner of a fuel convoy business. He gets a leg up near the river of the Brooklyn docks and   carry  two suitcases of money for Josef ( Jerry Adler) , the owner of the dock Abel covets for 5 years. The sales agreement is signed with the 40% deposit Abel himself financed. The rest will be loan by bank  after the 30-day contract. The problem is that many things will happen during those 30 days, including robberies of  truck from his company, that might jeopardize his business .

Abel is a man of principles he is Latino and got there with nothing to get from where he is now. He comes from a modest family. After he makes the deal things started to get rough. It is the beginning of the 80’s and in New York things were corrupted. And now his trucks are getting rob but not with gun, with baseball bats and such they get the dude out of the truck beat him up and take off with the truck. But the truckers want protection some of them arm themselves with guns. the things is the district attorney is after Abel because he thinks he is a gangster which back in those days it was running by gangsters. But Abel isn’t one he is a respectable business man has he proclaim. it is a suspenseful film. And later in the movie you will know why the district Attorney is after him. Abel doe want to handle his problem on his own not with the help of his father in law which could aggravate the situation. The performance of Issac is outstanding it is very effective as well as the work of the director Chandor who wrote a masterpiece.Jessica Chastain is cold as ice plays the right arm of Abel, she has done an outstanding performance as well. In the late 70’s it was Miami who was the most dangerous town in the U.S. but in the 80’s was New York. Too much corruption across the city. Well film by Chandor it has that 80’s fell toward it. His next film is the 2010 BP oil spill. Can’t wait.

I do not want to reveal too much but here it is in the story you do not know much about the couple even when you go into it in depth you still don’t and that is the way I like it . Here is a couple who visit Athens Greece and you think they normal people who bumps into a tour guide well not exactly it is the tour guide who keeps starring at Chester so his wife go see the tour guide and ask him a bunch a question turn to be an american who leaves in Greece and decided to get into tourism industries as a tour guide but not an ordinary tour guide he scams tourist and does well. A  film by : Ethan CoenJoel Coen

Cast : Oscar IsaacCarey MulliganJohn Goodman.

Llewyn Davis a folks song singer a talented one at that but we ca not imagine LLewyn happy. It is a diabolic film writing by the Cohen brothers and a terrific one at that. There is no happy ending and it is sad and funny at the same time. Little joke like that one when LLewyn goes in the bathroom seats on the stall and read an inscription on the side that says ” what are you doing”. Sad as the singer has no place to live and goes around from apartment from a friend to his sister to his brother.  He wants to get out he has enough of this shit but the shit keeps coming back to him, he goes around in circle.  Troy Nelson (Stark Sands) is in the army, he sings where LLewyn sings in this little tavern. Troy after singing invites Jean and Jim to sing with him they do a nice version of “Five Hundred Miles.” LLewyn does somewhat enjoy them. But when the audience join them LLewyn raises his eyes brows a little looks around he does not understand, the place he thought he was part of, is becoming foreign to him. And he doesn’t understand why. The cinematography by Bruno Delbonnel is terrific. An other Brilliant film by the coen brothers.
